I enjoyed your article Katy. I think our stories are similar yet a little different. I also grew up in a religious environment. I attended church whenever the doors were open. I accepted many of the teachings yet had many questions that I could not ask. For me leaving home made a lot of difference also. Home for me was the institutional church and religion. I do not like using the term christian any longer because of the many negative things it makes people think of. I like Jesus follower. He loved and accepted all people and treated everyone respectfully. Yes, I still believe in God but not the one we were told about in the church. Jesus showed us what God is like. I also believe in letting people make their own choices and to love and accept each other even in our differences. Thanks again for a kind and interesting article.
