I have always had a problem when someone says you cannot be a Christian and be so and so. You can't be a Christian and be democrat, you can't be a Christian and be pro-choice. Well, I say of course you can. I have voted for Democrats and I believe women should have the freedom to make medical decisions for themselves. Our personal choices and decisions have nothing to do with our spiritual fellowship with God. When someone makes a statement like this, they lose me right away. What they are stating is not biblical, it is their opinion...and everyone has one. I accepted Christ around the age of ten and I have lived a life trying to follow him and be pleasing to God ever since. For someone to tell me I am not a Chrisian because of a personal opinion is just crazy. Also, to say a woman should not have a choice over her healthcare is just plain wrong. Two women in Georgia and one in Texas died because they medically needed an abortion and were unable to get one because the doctors were afraid to do what was necessary. These women ended up losing the baby and also died from infections. Women need to have the right to make decisions based on their health, the health of the baby and the information they get from the doctor. When someone tells you that you can't be a Christian and also be so and so, ignore them. They are only giving you a personal opinion. Follow the leading of the Spirit from within, follow the common-sense God gave you in each situation and know that God loves you no matter what.

Done with religion does not mean done with God, but done with religious traditions. We post articles weekly about living for God outside the walls of religion.
